Convert MP4 to MP3
Save the sound of a video as an MP3 file: your files stay on your device, nothing is uploaded, and it is free with no account.
How it works
- Choose an MP4 video or drop it on this page. MOV, MKV and WebM videos and M4A and WAV files work too.
- Pick the quality: 128, 192 or 320 kbps. The sound is decoded and encoded as MP3 in this browser tab.
- Download the MP3. Your original file is not changed.
Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside this browser tab, so your files never leave your device and no server sees them. Closing the tab clears them from memory.
Which quality should I choose?
192 kbps sounds good for most music and takes about 1.4 MB a minute. 128 kbps is smaller, about 1 MB a minute, and fine for talks and podcasts. 320 kbps is the highest MP3 allows, about 2.4 MB a minute. A higher setting cannot bring back detail the video's sound did not have.
What are the limits, and which browsers work?
One file up to 2 GB and 4 hours long. Only the first sound track is used, and sound with more than two channels is mixed down to stereo. WAV files work in any current browser. Other sound is decoded with the browser's own codecs (WebCodecs): Chrome and Edge, Firefox 130 or newer on a computer, and Safari 26 or newer. If your browser cannot decode a file, the page says so as soon as you add it.
