Questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside this browser tab, so your images never leave your device and no server sees them. Closing the tab clears them from memory.
Why is the PNG larger than the JPG?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so a photo usually takes more space as a PNG. Converting does not bring back detail the JPG already dropped, and it does not make the background transparent.
What are the limits?
Up to 100 images at a time. Each can be up to 80 MB and 50 million pixels, and the copies are at most 16,384 pixels wide or high. Animated PNG and WebP files are not converted, because only their first frame would be kept.
