Open and edit a DOCX file
- Choose Open file, or drag the DOCX into the window.
- Switch to editing, select text and use the ribbon: text, formatting, lists, tables, pictures, headers and footers.
- Save with Windows Pro, or Save as to keep the original.
When a paragraph cannot be edited
You can type around fields and note references. A paragraph with tracked changes, a text box, a picture or an empty field can stay read-only.
- Fonts may be substituted on screen, and complex layouts can look different from Microsoft Word.
- Office macros do not run in UFO.

Working with an ODT document
ODT editing is narrower: change paragraph text, add or delete paragraphs, and save in place with Pro. Formatting is kept as it is.

Do I need Microsoft Word installed to read DOCX files in UFO?
No. UFO reads DOCX with its own engine, on your PC. Some layouts look different from Word.

No. Windows Pro is a separate lifetime purchase on your Microsoft account; Android Pro belongs to your Google account.
